Can You Install a Rain Shower in a Small Bathroom?

Rain offers a natural remedy for stress and relief from the summer heat. A rain shower in the bathroom can create the same effect for you every day. A rain shower in your bathroom has another advantage over natural rain – temperature control.

While you can’t expect a warm shower during winter from the skies, in your bathroom, why not?

You can install a combination of the following three types of showers in your bathroom.

Wall Mounted Rain Shower for Bathroom

Wall-mounted rain showers are an excellent choice for tiny bathrooms. Johnson bathroom provides both styles and a variety of bathroom accessories from which you may choose to change the overall appearance of your bathroom.

Bathroom rain shower

A shower arm often holds a wall-mounted rainfall shower head to your wall. These are typically used to keep your bathroom looking conventional. Due to the typical low height of wall-mounted shower heads, the water pressure is ideal for a soothing experience.

Ceiling Mounted Rain Showers

Ceiling Mounted Rain Shower Head: A ceiling-mounted rain shower head is a fixture that is mounted to your ceiling. Installing a waterfall overhead shower will offer you the sensation of taking a bath in a fantastical cascade. Two types of ceiling-mounted shower heads are available:

- A shower arm holding it to the ceiling.

- The shower head was flush against your ceiling when it was recessed.

Hand Shower for More Flexibility

Hand rain shower head: Try hand rain shower heads if you want a shower head that thoroughly cleans your entire body and a small bathroom.  Any region of your body can receive water from these shower heads. This promotes a thorough cleaning while also preventing water waste.

Changing modes is also simple and only requires one click. These shower heads often have circular spray nozzles and provide a soothing shower.

Rain Shower vs Normal Shower Heads

The major difference between a normal shower head and a rain shower head is only about the size. Where normal showerheads have a maximum diameter of 100 mm, rain showers start with a size of 200mm and can go up to 400 mm.

Apart from size, rain showers are different from normal showers in the way they control the flow of water. While normal showers are usually free flow, rain showers will create a rain effect when the water releases through the pores on the head.

Johnson’s rain shower heads use airflow technology to create rain-like effect with the water stream.

How Much Space Do You Need for a Rain Shower?

When there is little bathroom space, the shower head must be compact while still providing an excellent spray. Even the simplest showers may be transformed into a spa-like experience for a luxurious daily ritual.

The ideal rain shower heads for smaller bathrooms can be small. The minimum rain shower size in any case will be close to 200mm. Johnson’s Optima range of rain showers offers round and square-shaped small rain showers.

The shower space of about 4x4 feet in your bath should be enough for any size of a rain shower. Another thing you need to take care of is the shower height.

Rain shower heads are often wall-mounted in small bathrooms. However, some are ceiling-mounted to maximise available space. If you want to fully enjoy the benefits of a rain shower, make sure to have it installed with a headroom of at least one foot.

Originally, rain shower heads were intended to be positioned on ceilings. To avoid running plumbing above the shower stall ceiling, they are now available in wall-mount versions.

With an 8 1/2" diameter, Johnson's Elite Rain Showers offer a durable and straightforward rain shower experience that is perfect for any bathroom with limited space. Its clean design components are the ideal complement to a wide range of interior design styles, from traditional to transitional to modern.

There is a large selection of shower heads in Johnson's bathroom that are durable, easy to clean, and have aesthetically pleasing designs.

FAQs

 1. How much do rainfall showers cost?

Rain showers are priced based on the size of the showerhead and the type of shower arm used. If you are going for a wall-mounted 200 mm shower head, it may cost you anywhere between Rs 3000 to Rs 5000. However, if you want to use a larger shower head, your shower cost may go more than Rs 7000.

 2. How do you stop a rain shower from dripping?

All shower heads will contain some water even after you turn off the supply. This water will drip out of the head rather slowly. The dripping should continue until the showerhead is empty. However, if it continues throughout the day, check the valves in the diverter for leakage. If the leakage is from an unwanted space in the showerhead check the shower valves and replace them.

 3. What causes a rain shower head to drip?

Rain shower heads may drip for a while after you turn off the diverter valve as they contain some water inside. The dripping should automatically stop once the showerhead is empty. However, if it continues check the diverter valve for leakage.

 4. What is the difference between a rain shower head and a regular shower head?

The major visible difference is in the size. While a regular shower head goes up to 100 mm in diameter, a rain shower head starts at 200mm and goes upwards of 400mm in diameter. Another difference is that most regular shower heads are free to flow while rain shower heads will mix air with the water and create rain-like effect on the flow.
